The Journal Circle is a welcoming monthly gathering where we'll explore a different theme through guided reflection, meaningful conversation, thoughtfully curated journaling prompts, and quiet moments of personal writing. Think of it as part cozy coffee date, part creative inspiration, and part personal reset.
Whether you're brand new to journaling or have filled notebooks for years, you'll find a relaxed, supportive space to reflect, share ideas, spark meaningful conversations, and leave feeling a little more grounded, connected, and inspired.

Community Book Club: Evicted: Poverty & Profit in America
In collaboration with Chaffee County Public Health and the Chaffee Housing Authority, join us on Wednesday, September 9, for our next community book club discussion about Evicted: Poverty & Profit in America by Matthew Desmond. The event will be from 5 pm to 7 pm at A Church in Salida (419 D Street).

SHS Big Read: The Addiction Inoculation
Join us on Friday, October 16th at 9 am for our 3rd Salida High School Big Read for a discussion about the book The Addiction Inoculation by Jessica Lahey. The Addiction Inoculation is a comprehensive resource parents, teachers, coaches, students, and community members can use to prevent substance abuse in kids' lives. Lahey provides evidence-based strategies and practical tools that are age-appropriate and actionable to help us raise kids who will grow up healthy, happy, and addiction-free.
Ticket includes a copy of the book, a guided discussion, and coffee/snacks.

Summer Youth Program
Summer reading & writing camp for rising 5th through 9th graders. Groups will be divided into appropriate grade level reading groups. Camp will include Book Club discussions, Reading Time, Nature Journaling, & Writing Workshops. Afternoon snack included. Attendees will need to ride their bike, bring lunch, and a water bottle. Attendees will be moving around downtown Salida from the bookstore (with an adult supervisor). All attendees will be entered into a raffle drawing for a new National Parks book, and will receive books for their reading club and a journal.
