Join CMC for author of
Kiko: From Life Without Parole to Life with Purpose “At just nineteen years old, David Carrillo was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole for his role in a gang-related homicide. Thrown into some of Colorado's most violent prisons, he endured decades in solitary confinement, the destructive pull of prison politics, and the crushing reality of a system designed to break him. Yet, through education, self-reflection, and an unrelenting search for meaning, Carrillo forged a new path-emerging not as the person the system expected, but as an educator, consultant, and advocate for change.”
We love books, and we love to share books with others! Our bookstore's mission is to build community around books. Though we don’t have a brick and mortar, YET, we were at the Salida Farmers’ Market in the summer and fall, at the holiday market in early winter, and have community reading and author events all year round. Check out our Events Page for details.
We support authors residing in and visiting Salida and the surrounding region. We have hosted Ted Conover, Ben Goldfarb, Pam Houston, and many more local authors at the Farmers’ Market.
We are always open for books (even though we don't have a brick & mortar yet). We can arrange a pick up or deliver. In addition, we have a page on Bookshop.org, which supports our business and delivers right to you! You can purchase audio books through us on libro.fm.
Keep us in mind for all your book needs. We have been enjoying this new venture.
